The Inter-American Housing Union (Uniapravi) and the Colombian Association of Bankers and Financial Institutions held the 57th Inter-American Housing Conference and 16th Housing Forum at the Grand Hyatt Bogotá, Colombia, on Monday, May 5 and Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
As part of this event, the 52nd General Assembly and 130th Session of the Uniapravi Board of Directors were held. During this meeting, members of the Executive Committee were elected, ratifying Mr. José Luis Ventura of the Dominican Republic as President; Mr. Sebastián Fernández of Mexico as Past President; Mr. Efraín Caballeros of Guatemala as First Vice President; Mr. Víctor Rosales of Mexico as Regional Director for North America; and Mr. Jorge Yarza as Past President of the Union.
Likewise, Mr. Jonathan Malagón from Colombia joined the Committee as 2nd Vice President, Ms. Annerys Meléndez from the Dominican Republic as Regional Director for the Caribbean, Mr. Juan Manuel Melendez from Guatemala as Regional Director for Northern Central America, Ms. Mayela Rojas from Costa Rica as Regional Director for Southern Central America, Mr. Fernando Gonzalez from Ecuador as Regional Director for Northern South America, and Mr. Gerardo Fernández from Argentina as Regional Director for Southern South America.
Uniapravi expresses its deep gratitude to Mr. Augusto Du Bois from Argentina and Ms. Dayra de Sauri from Panama for their collaboration and invaluable support during their tenures as Directors and members of the Uniapravi Committee.
The elected Executive Committee reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting access to decent housing, housing financing, and sustainable urban development in the Latin American and Caribbean region, consolidating Uniapravi's role as the main inter-American reference in the generation of policies and best practices for sustainable housing development and financing through its various activities and services, promoting the definition and implementation of innovative instruments and mechanisms in housing financing, fostering valuable services for its members, the transmission of best practices, and the creation of spaces for exchange between public and private actors in an inclusive manner.
